One week after jointly declaring impasse at the ba One week after jointly declaring impasse at the bargaining table with SFUSD, tonight we delivered over 4,000 strike ready signatures. It shows incredible unity when 78 percent of UESF members sign on to say we are willing to strike for the schools our students deserve if the district makes it necessary. District Management and the Board of Education must take seriously our unwavering commitment to our students and to great public schools.

10.6 Bargaining Update: After 8 months of bargaini 10.6 Bargaining Update: After 8 months of bargaining, dozens of proposal exchanges, and an expired contract, we ended the night by declaring an impasse. The district management’s refusal to move anywhere on our high priority demands, like benefits and workload, and low or no cost demands like protecting us from losing work to AI and contractors, has left us no choice.

SFUSD is facing another payroll crisis following i SFUSD is facing another payroll crisis following its transition from EMPower to the new Frontline payroll system. District leadership must act now so educators and staff can focus on welcoming students back, not worrying about their paychecks.

And the reason we use the word discipline is because they have no right to expect peace from us because they haven't done the work. Over the Summer, we will continue to prepare to hi Over the Summer, we will continue to prepare to hit the ground running in August. There is no question that our organizing in the spring had an impact on avoiding so many layoffs, and we’ll need to bring that same energy into the fall to fight for the contract our students deserve!  We hope you all have a great summer, and we will be back with another update after our next bargaining session on July 17.
