UESF represents more than 6,500 SFUSD employees including teachers, paraprofessionals, nurses, counselors, and psychologists.

You showed up 20,000 strong today, San Francisco! You showed up 20,000 strong today, San Francisco! Overnight, our numbers doubled. This is what solidarity looks like. The power of each and every one of you was felt throughout the entire city, from our morning pickets to rallying at Dolores Park, and then onward to Civic Center, where our voices were heard at the bargaining table! We are still at the table and will message out any updates later tonight.
UESF members should attend their Wednesday morning picket lines. After morning pickets, we gather at 12pm at Ocean Beach (1070 Great Highway) to create a giant human banner – thousands will use our bodies to spell a 100 by 300 foot “STRIKE FOR OUR STUDENTS” message on the beach! One day longer, one day stronger! See you tomorrow!

This banner will be facilitated by artists David Solnit and Andres Amador, along with UESF members and labor/community allies.

Last night at the table with SFUSD: their proposal Last night at the table with SFUSD: their proposals on special education, health care, and salary still don’t go far enough. We can’t accept raises with cuts to school sites. We can’t accept health care with heavy costs for members. The district knows what we’re asking for. We’ve said it again and again. Without a signed agreement, we’ll be on strike Monday.
