This year marks the 35th anniversary of the historic merger that formed the United Educators of San Francisco (UESF). In 1989, two rival unions—SFCTA and SFFT—came together, uniting teachers and paraprofessionals under one strong voice. Thanks to leaders like Joan-Marie Shelley and Judy Dellamonica, this merger has paved the way for stronger contracts, better working conditions, and greater collaboration.
