Today, yet again, we let the district know just how bad the stability crisis is in SFUSD. The last time educators in San Francisco went on strike was in 1979. We clearly don’t take this step lightly, but we will stand up for the schools our students and educators deserve.

Second Strike Vote: Time’s Up, SFUSD! It’s time to Second Strike Vote: Time’s Up, SFUSD! It’s time to take our final strike vote, held at every site from January 21 to January 28. We’re at the last step of the mediation process, and we know that our students can’t wait for safe, stable schools. We’re voting yes. Together, we will win the schools our students deserve.

Our demands are more important than ever: Our SPED students are underserved, dependent healthcare costs are through the roof, educators need livable wages, and our immigrant and unhoused communities are under constant threat. Over the past 10 months, we’ve been met with nothing but rejection and an insulting offer of 2% if we take major concessions. We know the money is there. We demand that SFUSD prioritizes the stability of students and communities.

We spoke with KTVU about the work we are doing in We spoke with KTVU about the work we are doing in partnership with Faith in Action, our students, and families to keep our communities safe. Through this partnership, we launched the Sanctuary Legal Defense Fund, a new effort to ensure that immigrant families in San Francisco public schools have access to high-quality legal support to protect their rights during the immigration process. UESF has pledged up to $50,000 in matching funds, doubling the impact of every donation. Together, we are working to ensure that SFUSD truly serves as a Sanctuary for all our students.
