The Superintendent stated on December 22nd, 2023 that negotiated wage increases and the retroactive payments would be made to employees by the en dot March of 2024, and possibly sooner. This is the expectation of UESF. This week, the President of UESF, Cassondra Curiel sent a formal letter to the Superintendent and Board of Education making it clear that any delay in payment would be met with immediate action by our union.

UESF is preparing internally for a need to escalate our organizing in case we get a hint that there will be a delay in payment. If there is no workflow plan, one that involves coordinating multiple departments, shortly after the close of February’s pay cycle on Feb. 21st, it will be clear to UESF’s leadership that the District is not prepared to meet the needs of members. You have made it abundantly clear that this historic raise is needed to alleviate the rise in healthcare costs and the costly living expenses in San Francisco.
