Come early and help us paint these "Defend Public Education" banners we will take with us on our march to the I.C.E. offices!

Our students deserve to start the school year with fully staffed classrooms. State advisor Elliott Duchon has been playing games with our schools--insisting on layoffs when there are vacancies and standing in the way of voluntary transfers and returning teachers. Educators showed up at the Board of Education meeting tonight to demand District Management stop with the unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles and fully staff our schools now!

5.12 Bargaining Update: The District finally responded to our proposals and made it clear they're okay with the status quo. We saw no urgency on student housing, safe classrooms, layoffs, or special ed burnout. Our students and educators deserve better.

There are 3,000 homeless kids in SFUSD—that’s one in every 16 of our students. The City government can solve this crisis and end family homelessness.
