UESF Takes Stand to Keep Kindergarten Class Size Small
Teachers & Parents Deliver Message @ April 28th Board of Ed Meeting
Campaign Continues - Sample Teacher, Parent Letter Below
On March 24th the SFUSD Board of Education passed a resolution late in the night that would raise class size in Kindergarten next year to 22. UESF Vice-President Linda Plack was on hand to tell them what a terrible idea the resolution was.
At the Board of Education meeting on April 28th, dozens of teachers, paras, and parents demanded that the Board to do everything in their power to save the valuable and successful Class Size Reduction program.
Watch the videos below to see the UESF presentation to the Board. Especially popular was the presentation by Yick Wo kindergarten teacher Susie Siege (first video).
Class Size Letter to Board of Education
The teachers and paras at Feinstein Elementary have developed a letter to send to the Board Commissioners about class size. Please consider using this as a template to create your own letter. Also, don’t forget to contact your PTA and tell them about the situation.
